Are you approaching a milestone anniversary and would like to celebrate with family and friends?
Maybe you have only been married or in a civil partnership for a short time but changes or events you have experienced in life have inspired you to renew your vows and reaffirm your love for each other.
Were you married or had a civil partnership abroad and would like to celebrate again at home with family and friends who could not be there with you?
Whatever your thoughts and reasons, a Renewal of Vows Ceremony is the perfect way to celebrate and declare your on-going love and commitment as a couple.
A Renewal of Vows Ceremony can take place inside or outside, in a variety of locations which do not require a licence.
A Renewal of Vows ceremony is not legally binding and has no legal standing. It is purely ceremonial and as such does not contain any legal wording associated with marriage or civil partnership.
The Renewal of Vows ceremony can take the format of a traditional wedding ceremony and include all the usual trimmings.
Include personal choices such as readings and music.
You may wish to exchange new rings or re-dedicate your existing rings.
You could include a symbolic gesture such as a candle ceremony, sand-blending, handfasting or the sharing of a Quaich
(a two handled loving cup).
Why not get family and friends involved too!
The only bit we cannot include are any legal words associated with marriage or civil partnership.
The ceremony usually takes between 20 and 40 minutes depending on how detailed you would like to be.
Afterwards you may wish to celebrate with a meal or a party!
I will meet with you either face to face or online and take on board all your thoughts and wishes as well as offer ideas and suggestions to make your ceremony exactly how you would like it to be.
I will create a bespoke, personalised ceremony, where you can choose the vows and promises you wish to make to each other along with other personalised detail.
Whatever your reason, renewing your vows is a chance to reflect, celebrate and look forward to your future together.
Maybe you have decided that having a legal ceremony is not for you but want to celebrate your relationship and wish to show your love and commitment to one another in front of family and friends.
You can include all the personal details such as music, readings, symbolic gestures and ring exchange.
It is for couples who wish to celebrate their relationship and commitment to each other, without entering into a legal marriage or civil partnership.
See my contact page or home page for ways to reach me. Feel free to email, call or text for further information, to discuss your thoughts and wishes and to book a date for your ceremony.
If you would like to go ahead, I will book the date and send you my terms, conditions and our contract for the ceremony.
My fee for a Vows Renewal or Commitment ceremony is from £550, depending on location, which I charge in two equal instalments.
The first instalment is charged upon booking to secure the date and time.
The final instalment is charged 12 weeks before the date of your ceremony.
I will arrange to meet you at a convenient time and location so we can discuss everything you would like to include in your vows renewal or commitment ceremony.
I will give you ideas for poems, readings, music and symbolic gestures if you need any pointers and also a vows and promises if you do not wish to write your own.
Together we can create the perfect ceremony.
Following our meeting, we will keep in contact regularly. I will write your ceremony, then you will have the opportunity to make any changes to it as many times as you wish until you are completely happy with it. I will also visit your venue prior to the day to ensure everything is perfect before your big day arrives.
I will be there an hour before the ceremony so I can ensure everything is in place and ready for you. We can have a chat first before we start your celebration!!
